As deliberations over the U.S. Budget Reconciliation and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill roll on, it has leaked that Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema wants to cut $100 Billion from climate funding. These two pieces of legislation are both heavily loaded with climate policy and both being integral to pivoting America in a sustainable direction. Sinema’s demand to cut spending on climate provisions could force cuts to programs that would help communities adapt to climate change, to help companies transition to an economy that is led by clean energy instead of fossil fuels, and advertently protect the environment.
